Municipality of Fasano

Brief info

Fasano, like many towns in the south of Italy, is characterized by the historic center where, between the ancient walls, there are narrow streets, whitewashed walls, arches, and squares. The current City of Fasano derives from the Casale di S. Maria de Fajano, under construction in 1088 by the populations who had abandoned the ruins of Egnazia. Feud of the Knights of Malta in the 14th century, today Fasano is a tourist town with a great agricultural and artisan tradition. Fasanese cuisine is a typical simple and tasty Mediterranean cuisine thanks to the use of exceptional ingredients and products for quality and genuineness.
